Job Description:

You will be a vital member of our product development and R&D teams, developing innovative solutions that power wearable sensors for consumer and medical devices and applications. Your specific activities will include the following: 

  1. Leading system architecture and development for algorithm integration
  2. Optimizing code for speed and power minimization
  3. Testing your code within a continuous integration framework

Working within a development team of product managers, scientists, engineers, and DSP experts to integrate Valencell technology into packaged commercial solutions and to support rapid prototyping of next-gen solutions.

Required education and skills:

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 7+ years of industry experience and experience preparing code for commercial delivery
  • Fluency in C and/or C++
  • Fluency in Python and Continuous Integration
  • Experience developing DSP + ML algorithms
  • Thorough understanding of resource optimizations and tradeoffs regarding algorithm integration
  • Experience programming for microcontroller platforms, such as ARM

Job Description:

You will be a vital member of our operations and engineering teams supporting sample assembly, building up evaluation kits, programing devices, and managing shipments to customers. Key skills to have are organization, motivation and attention to detail. Quick and accurate order fulfillment is critical to our businesses success.

Typical job activities will include:

• Managing requests for different levels of service from a standard kit to a custom kit defined by our sales or engineering teams
• Programming and configuring evaluation kits and product samples
• Executing quality tests on evaluation kits
• Kitting evaluation units and product samples
• Packaging prototypes, evaluation kits, and samples
• Tracking and organizing inventory
• Shipping and Receiving

As a member of the ops team, you will own inventory control and tracking for in-house collateral (eval kit components, samples, and supporting products). As items are needed, you will work with product team to order and replenish inventories.

On occasion, additional work to support the R&D teams may be requested. Tasks of this nature may include prototype ordering and assembly or electrical lab support work such as component inspection or device testing.
This person must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual. This position provides a great opportunity to contribute substantially to a rapidly growing startup company, with many opportunities for career growth.

Biometrics Lab Internship, Raleigh NC

Part-time position up to 28 hours per week

Timeline and schedule:

Job Description:

You will be a vital member of the biometrics laboratory team, executing data collection and analysis of biometric sensors and related metrics. This position requires working with a large number of research volunteers in the laboratory and organizing data.

Required education and skills:

  • Exercise Science (in process for internship). Related majors with experience considered
  • Experience with data collection and organization
  • Understanding of exercise testing and prescription principles
  • Fast learner – this internship will require a large variety of analytic tasks
  • Self-starter – this internship requires taking the initiative to learn new things

Desired knowledge and experience:

  • Familiarity with exercise technology including smart phone applications, fitness software, heart rate, GPS, and/or power monitors
  • Ability to organize data utilizing spreadsheet and database software
  • Experience with fitness programs including cardiovascular and strength training
  • Understanding of indirect calorimetry
