Michael Dering
Chairman, CEO
Michael Dering has over 25 years experience in the technology industry in the Mid-Atlantic and Silicon Valley markets. Most recently, Michael was President and CEO of ServiceBench, Inc., a privately-held SaaS business focused on optimizing the delivery of post-sale service by integrating the service supply chain to increase customer satisfaction and reduce costs.Prior to ServiceBench, Michael served as President and CEO of CrossAccess Corporation, a multi-national venture-funded software infrastructure company that focuses on integrating corporate business functions with new e-business applications. Prior to joining CrossAccess, he served as President and CEO of two Bell & Howell companies. Michael holds a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Steven LeBoeuf, Ph.D.

President, Valencell, Inc.
As co-founder and President of Valencell, Inc., Dr. LeBoeuf has developed ongoing strategic partnerships between Valencell and leaders in industry and academia. He has raised more than $10M in funding for Valencell and is the inventor/co-inventor of more than 50 granted patents, including dozens of foundational patents in the field of accurate wearable sensors. Prior to Valencell, LeBoeuf led the optoelectronic biosensor program at GE Global Research, where he managed the development and productization of biosensor systems and developed cutting-edge nanosensor technology. Before joining GE, LeBoeuf developed optoelectronic solid-state materials and devices while researching at North Carolina State University. Dr. LeBoeuf holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from N.C. State and a B.S. in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

Dr. Jesse Tucker, Ph.D.

Vice President of Engineering
With over 20 patents for his designs, Jesse has developed and prototyped solid-state devices, wireless electronics, and biomedical sensor modules. As a technical lead at GE Global Research, he managed more than $11M in corporate and government R&D programs with a focus on SiC high temperature electronics, RF devices, and power devices and packaging. Jesse holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University.

Michael Aumer, Ph.D.


Vice President of Product Management
With more than 10 patents to his credit, Mike is responsible for product management initiatives for Valencell. Prior to Valencell, he managed budgets over $3M while transitioning innovative electronics technology from R&D to production at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. Mike holds several degrees including a M.S. in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Vijay Parmar

Vijay Parmer
Partner, GII Tech Ventures Silicon Valley, California
Vijay focuses on mid-stage technology investments in companies with a proven product and/or service in deployment and a strong customer and revenue pipeline as well as select early stage companies on a rapid growth curve.
Vijay brings a wealth of operating experience to the GII Tech portfolio companies as well as a vast global network. His experience includes both startup companies (VP Marketing at VxTel, acquired by Intel; Founder/CEO at GainSpan, spun off from Intel; Founder/CEO at ReZolt and Ubzerve, acquired by Anaren) and large companies (senior executive positions at AMD and Intel). He is adept in areas including cloud technologies, networking, telecommunications, wireless, and Internet of Things. Vijay has lived and worked in Taiwan, New Zealand, Bahrain and India, and is now settled in the Silicon Valley.
Vijay received a B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University.

Todd Ackman


Vice President of Finance
Todd previously served as Vice President of Finance at Inlet Technologies, where he supported the company’s $95M acquisition by communications giant Cisco. Todd has held management positions as Director of Finance for Quintiles and Senior Accounting Analyst at PBS&J. He has auditing experience with international CPA firms and is a licensed CPA in Florida. Todd holds a B.S. in Accounting from Bradley University.

Mark Felice
Vice President of Business Development and Licensing
As the VP of Business Development and Licensing, Mark serves as the primary point of contact for all prospective global licensees of the company’s PerformTek™ sensor technology. Prior to Valencell, Mark served as the VP of Business Development at Beyond Oblivion, leading the company’s global business development effort and rapidly expanding market reach and commercial pipeline in the process. As the Co-Founder and VP of Business Development at Trinity Convergence, Mark spearheaded all global business development efforts, serving as a key member of the corporate strategy team contributing to multiple acquisitions. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Ryan Kraudel
Vice President of Marketing
As VP of Marketing, Ryan leads global marketing for Valencell and is responsible for all areas of marketing strategy and execution. Prior to Valencell, Ryan led marketing and enterprise engagement at 6fusion, rapidly growing market awareness and adoption of an innovative approach to standardizing the economic measurement of IT infrastructure. At GXS, Ryan led product marketing and product management for GXS Managed Services, helping grow the business from $40M to $150M in 7 years. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Chris Eschbach, Ph.D., HFS, CSCS
Director, Biometrics Lab
Chris Eschbach serves as the Company’s Director, Biometrics Lab, where he coordinates internal and external clinical validation trials, supervises and executes validation testing in the lab and field, as well as contributes to the research and development of new technology related to physiological biometrics as applied to exercise, medical and military situations. Prior to joining Valencell, Chris founded the Human Performance Lab, LLC, a facility dedicated to providing physiological consulting for wellness and sports. He served as an Associate Professor at North Carolina Wesleyan College, focusing on research related to the validation of biometrics measured by sensors, range of motion, athletic performance. Previously, he spent ten years at Meredith College as an Associate Professor and chaired the Department of Nutrition, Health, and Human Performance. Dr. Eschbach has a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and M.S. in Human Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in Zoology from Western Illinois University.

James Pastoriza
Managing General Partner, TDF Ventures
James Pastoriza has been Managing General Partner at TDF Ventures (TDF) since 2004. Before TDF he was a Partner at JPMorgan Capital in Silicon Valley from 2000-2004 and a Partner at AT&T Ventures from 1995-2000. He began his career at AT&T holding several operating positions. He has a BSEE from Columbia University and MS from MIT. He lives with his wife and two boys outside Washington, DC.

William Coleman

Bill Coleman has over 15 years of experience building technology companies in diverse roles, from product development to senior management and venture investor. Currently, Bill is the lead investment manager for WSJ Joshua Fund, a partnership focusing on early stage technology investments. Prior to WSJ Joshua, Bill was the CFO of BigTick Financial Solutions based in Chicago. The company provided ultra-low latency trading infrastructure design, hardware procurement and installation services to professional high-frequency traders. Bill also currently serves as the lead advisor to the Light Foundation of Dallas, which makes grants annually to faith-based charities and other non-profit organizations. Bill graduated with a BA in Economics from Westmont College and earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
