Job Description:
You will be a vital member of our product development and R&D teams, developing innovative biometric data solutions that power wearable sensors for sports, fitness, health, and gaming applications. Your specific activities will include the following: 1) analyzing biometric and activity sensor data and generating analysis reports, 2) developing algorithms and assessments based on sensor data, 3) supporting experimental studies and test-bed development, and 4) performing R&D support.
Required education and skills:

  • B.S. or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, with 5+ years of work experience
  • Fluency in C and/or C++
  • Expertise with a variety of signal processing techniques
  • Demonstrated experience at extracting meaningful signals from noisy data
  • Expertise with a variety of analysis techniques (statistics, machine learning, and data mining)
  • Demonstrated experience at delivering solutions from unstructured datasets

Job Description:

You will be a vital member of our business development team in a customer-facing role, serving as the principal technical interface to Valencell’s global customer and partner base in a pre-sales setting. Your specific activities will include the following:
1) articulating Valencell’s solution offering to prospects and supporting their technology investigation through the sales process;
2) introducing customers to Valencell’s standard processes for technology evaluation, technology integration, and product development;
3) being the chief customer interface and advocate with respect to technical support and troubleshooting during the technology evaluation phase;
4) assessing preliminary customer product designs to determine the suitability for technology integration, and
5) serving as the interface between the Valencell engineering team and Valencell’s customers during the prospecting phase.

Required education and skills:

  • B.S. or higher in electrical engineering or similar

Biometrics Lab Internship, Raleigh NC

Exercise Science
Part-time position up to 28 hours per week

Timeline and schedule:

Job Description:

You will be a vital member of the biometrics laboratory team, executing data collection and analysis of biometric sensors and related metrics. This position requires working with a large number of research volunteers in the laboratory and organizing data.

Required education and skills:

  • Exercise Science (in process for internship). Related majors with experience considered
  • Experience with data collection and organization
  • Understanding of exercise testing and prescription principles
  • Fast learner – this internship will require a large variety of analytic tasks
  • Self-starter – this internship requires taking the initiative to learn new things

Desired knowledge and experience:

  • Familiarity with exercise technology including smart phone applications, fitness software, heart rate, GPS, and/or power monitors
  • Ability to organize data utilizing spreadsheet and database software
  • Experience with fitness programs including cardiovascular and strength training
  • Understanding of indirect calorimetry
