Valencell Executives to Demonstrate Technology and Provide Meaningful Fitness Assessments
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 19, 2013) – Valencell, an innovator in mobile health and fitness technology, today announced its participation in the 2013 International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association Show. Attendees will be able to stop by booth #236 to see first hand how Valencell’s PerformTek Precision Biometrics®captures accurate health/fitness data. Visitors to the booth will also be able to personally experience a competitive fitness assessment on the spot.
PerformTek is a licensable sensor technology that accurately monitors more real-time physiological data than any other fitness monitor – heart rate, distance, speed, cadence, calories burned and VO2 max (aerobic fitness level) – with high accuracy and consistency. It seamlessly integrates into earbuds, extracts biometric data, and synchs with smartphone apps people are already using while exercising to capture accurate, meaningful and actionable fitness data.
“IHRSA is a great opportunity to introduce PerformTek Precision Biometrics to members of the health and fitness industry,” said Valencell CEO and co-founder Dr. Steven LeBoeuf. “No one understands the importance of measuring and making sense of these biometrics more than the people trying to promote healthy, active lifestyles to their clients and customers.”
Valencell and iriver Ltd., an award-winning global consumer electronics company, recently introduced iriver ON at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. The iriver ON is the first Bluetooth audio headset powered by Valencell’s PerformTek Precision Biometrics and will be available for sale worldwide through sporting goods retailers, consumer electronics retailers, online outlets and other channels later this year. The retail price is $199.
Other PerformTek-powered form factors, such as arm bands and wrist devices, are on the horizon. Valencell provides licensees with a PerformTek licensing package including a sensor design, a DSP chip loaded with biometric firmware, and an application programming interface (API) for partners to easily develop their own mobile fitness applications. Additionally, iOS and Android software development kits are available now for licensing. Attendees at IHRSA interested in learning more about licensing Valencell’s technology should email@example.com.
Editor’s note: IHRSA is the trade association serving the health and fitness club industry. At the show, which runs March 19-22, 2013 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Valencell will be exhibiting in booth #236. Product images are available upon request.
